Recently added to the presentations section of the website, under the Resources menu, is a presentation written by Dr Faye Smith in 2010 entitled “Composite manufacturing development for wind turbine blades.”

The presentation starts with a description of the UK energy policy (in 2010) and the renewables potential, specifically focusing on wind energy. It then focuses in on trends in wind energy and the reasons why composites are of increasing interest for turbine blades. It continues with the trends in composite production methods, the UK composites strategy and wind-energy focused research projects.
